Trump, fear and migrations in North America

This panel seeks to understand how the interpretation of the border has changed under the Trump administration, how old rules have been interpreted and implemented in a way that has not been seen for decades. Fear is now a consubstantial feature of migration and mobility. Do we need to redefine the very idea of border? Will ‘Trumpian’ definition of the border impact mobility and migrations in the long run? Will it lead a wider redefinition of the border, away from North America? Will the Northern and Southern borders be apprehended more and more in the same terms by this Administration, and beyond?
